Foamation

Foamation is an experimental material and light design project created during an exchange at Brno University of Technology in the Czech Republic. Using laser cutting on semi-transparent foam paper, a single flat sheet is folded and tightened with strings into a multi-fold structure inspired by the accordion and the Japanese folding fan. Differences in thickness and tiny holes create varied brightness across the lampshade, forming a shape like a blooming flower that combines modern minimalism with traditional Japanese style. Honourable Mention at the Taiwan Light Design Award and featured in the official Behance Product Design Gallery.
