Project Brief
Raindrops is a generative projection work that holds a two-way conversation with its own environment. A self-sustaining system continuously reads information from a physical object, processes it, and projects the result back into the space, where it is read again — an endless loop in which the data is progressively refined and progressively loses control. Built with Processing and p5.js, the piece produces outcomes that cannot be predicted or repeated, and that gradual drift away from the original signal is the work itself. Developed at the Royal College of Art, London.
