Project Brief
SOUNDMATE is an interactive audiovisualisation product designed for couples and families who are unable to see each other every day. Ambient sound from each living space is converted into real-time dynamic visuals displayed on the FRAME, while the CUP lets users send voice messages marked with colour and light. By sharing visualisations rather than raw audio, SOUNDMATE offers a remote, privacy-protecting and quietly romantic way to stay connected. Gold Winner of the Egret Cup Industrial Design Competition, shortlisted for the Lexus International Design Award, and a Young Pin Design Award finalist.
